This is the start of a new series, World at war starting with Wars and rumours of wars.
The main focus will be on the postmodern era which started after World War 2 up until the present day.
We will discuss where we are, how we got there and where the conflict will take us. And you will be amazed what the Bible has to say in terms of prophetic fulfilment.
6 And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
Matthew 24:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV)
Spiritual warfare and physical warfare
Ever since the fall of mankind, when Adam and Eve were ejected from the Garden of Eden for their disobedience towards God, humanity has continued this trait and there has been a spiritual war taking place ever since.
As a result, we have learned to self-destruct by solely relying on ourselves before God, giving into temptations and not learning from the consequences, with wars being amongst them.
As the natural world and the supernatural realm interact with one another, spiritual warfare manifests itself into physical warfare.
The world at war did not start in 1914 at the beginning of World War 1 – also known as The Great War responsible for claiming over 18 million lives.
Nor was it over at the end of World War 2 in 1945 leaving more than 60 million people dead worldwide!
Inevitably, a third world war will break out leading to a tremendously higher death toll.
Sixth Trumpet: The Angels from the Euphrates
13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.
Revelation 9:13-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
The scripture above indicates the 4 nations (angels) which the River Euphrates runs through; Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran.
It is among this region of The Middle East where the third world war will emanate from and a third of the world’s human population (2.2 billion) will tragically be killed!
As far as an army of two hundred million is concerned, the only likely candidate nations for producing an army of such a colossal size are India or China.
Possibilities also suggest an army of Islamists such as; ISIS, Al Shabab, Boko Haram and many more extremist factions merging into battle in an attempt to establish a global Islamist caliphate.
As hard as this major event is to come to terms with, it’s clearly not a trivial matter you or I can do anything about, but God has not given us a spirit of fear (see 2 Timothy 1:7).
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 New King James Version (NKJV)
This concludes part one of the World at War series thank you for reading. In Part 2 we will follow up with more information about the nations involved.
